i think it’s fair to attribute a number of my traits to where i was raised. i’m a child of northeastern ohio, who would move to central kentucky after graduating from miami university of ohio. it was at miami’s outdoor pursuit center that i fell in love with climbing. after graduating with a degree in zoology and environmental science, i briefly worked in youngstown while making the six hour journey every weekend to climb in the red river gorge of kentucky. it didn’t take many late sunday night drives to convince me to move to south to be closer to the rock climbing i loved.
since moving to central kentucky, i found work with an engineering consulting firm. wanting to make an impact on the climbing community, i also involved myself with the red river gorge climbers’ coalition (rrgcc) and worked with fellow climbers, local officials, and area citizens to protect, secure, and expand climbing opportunities in the region.
along with climbing, i occasionally can be found on the soccer field, other times can be found working the gardens around my house, brewing beer with friends, and the rest of the time laughing with my wife.
